Preparing this editorial for Panorama, the academic journal of Universidad Doctor Andrés Bello, provides an opportunity to reflect on the fundamental role of scientific research, critical thinking, and knowledge production in advancing our understanding of the complex challenges facing contemporary society. In this context, the present issue, Volume 9, Number 2, July–December 2026, brings together scholarly contributions from diverse fields of knowledge that examine a range of relevant social, academic, and scientific issues through rigorous research and critical inquiry.
